My Story · Fletcher Baldwin

“I didn’t think
I could do this.”

Helping someone buy a home they didn’t think was attainable—that’s a part of this work that feels really good to me.

Not because it makes a good headline. Because, for that person, the possibility of buying a home felt out of reach. Being able to help them through the process meant something.

That’s what I want you to know about me. I care about the person on the other side of the conversation, and I want this to be a place where you can ask your questions and talk about what you’re hoping for.

My focus is Fenton, and I also work along the Saginaw-to-Brighton corridor and beyond.

The FSDB journal

A little clarity.
A better next move.

Practical starting points for buying, selling, and finding a place that fits your life.

01 / BUYING

Look beyond the listing photos.

A thoughtful walkthrough starts with the way you want to live.

Read the guide ↗

Before a showing, write down three things your next home needs to do for you. Think about daily routines, the people sharing your space, and the rooms you use most.

Walk through a normal day

Picture arriving home, putting away groceries, making dinner, working, and winding down. Notice the layout, storage, natural light, and how rooms connect.

Take consistent notes

Use the same short checklist at every home: what works, what needs a closer look, and what you want to ask. Photos can help you remember details when taking them is permitted.

Leave room for questions

Record anything you want to understand about the home instead of guessing from its appearance. Bring those questions into the conversation before deciding on your next step.

02 / SELLING

Give your home a fresh first impression.

A simple preparation plan for photos and showings.

Read the guide ↗

You don’t need to reinvent every room to present a home clearly. Begin with a walkthrough and a short list of tasks you can realistically complete.

Let the space speak

Clear crowded surfaces, tidy storage areas, and arrange furniture so people can move comfortably. The goal is to make the layout and features easy to see.

Follow the light

Clean windows, open curtains, and check bulbs before photos. Keep lighting consistent and make sure each room feels ready to use.

Start at the entrance

Sweep the walkway, tidy the entry, and put away everyday clutter. Make a final pass through the home before each showing.

03 / FINDING YOUR FIT

Build a search around your everyday life.

Start in Fenton—or explore further—with a clearer wish list.

Read the guide ↗

A home search is easier to discuss when your priorities are specific. Separate what you need from what would simply be nice to have.

Map your routines

Think about the places you visit often and the travel you’re comfortable with. Try a route at the time you would normally use it rather than relying on one estimate.

Choose your tradeoffs

Consider space, layout, yard upkeep, and the kind of surroundings you enjoy. Put your priorities in order so you can compare homes consistently.

Keep the conversation open

Fenton is FSDB Real Estate’s primary focus, with service extending along the Saginaw-to-Brighton corridor and surrounding communities. Tell us what matters to you and where you want to explore.
